At a time when it seems the dark side, the forces of evil, or whatever you call them are one the the rise it can feel all too hard, like time to hide under the duvet and hope it has all gone when we wake up.
But it is also time, and more so than ever, to do what we know is better – to not just advocate for a better future we want but to act now to create that future now, today.
It is time to come alive, your time to truly come alive.
Don’t ask yourself what the world needs.
Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that,
because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
Howard Thurman
Just a comment, with some reflection after reading through some of Cohen’s (koan) poetry, and realizing the extent of the -may I say- anti-authoritarian- attitudes expressed. But of course this would be ‘another interpretation’!! If only I had the energy, and the ‘desire’ to take on a thorough investigation!!! But to ‘become alive’???? He did say that he only found the ability to deal with his anxiety after his time in the Buddhist monastery/hospital, and indeed suggested that there was an element of Buddhist ‘acceptance’ involved….. (Just sayin’)
