Entangled with a past in the present – John Borrows

Still figuring on the different ways I realise it means something for me,  but this is my favourite thing I heard anyone say in 2017.

Heard during one of a series fo three talks John gave on Seven Grandmothers, and on drawing  law from the land and our relationship with it

To live is to be entangled with a past in the present,
in relationships not always of our own choosing,
and to make choices.
