Healing Voices Movie – Toronto Premier Fri 29th April 2016 | recovery network: Toronto

Healing Voices is a movie documentary that asks a simple questions like:

What are we talking about when we talk about ‘Mental Illness’?

and
What if that story you’ve been told isn’t true?….
What if what gets called “mental illness” is not “caused” by broken brain or faulty genes or wobbly chemical balances and what if it doesn’t need a lifelong fix of heavy duty drugs?”

What if, rather than think we need to isolate and control a person who is already struggling,  we see it as opportunity to connect, and open ourselves to what it really means to be human?

What if we had a different kind of conversation?

Healing Voices, four years in the making premiers around the world on Fri April 29th.

There’ll be a free screening in Toronto, hosted by Leadership Project, Family Outreach and PARC.
