the ancestors project

Come out  and support
the Ancestor Project Film Launch.

AGO Jackman Hall Theatre

Wed June 8th 2011, 6pm to 8pm

The Ancestor Project is a film camp intensive where youth examine body/ cell memory, migrations, personal and political histories and  geographies.

The project parallels the narratives that we learn about Canadian
history and challenges this by inserting our traditionally unheard stories into  the dialogue. This event will present the films of the youth in the first cycle of this project as well as the trailer for the documentary Luulay iyo Malaay by  Bishara Mohamed. This project was supported by Sketch Working Arts, Charles  Street Video and Canada Council for the Arts.

I, Omar is one of the youth who will be presenting my  Canadian ancestry short film in this event, and Bishara is the Ancestor  project facilitator…
